Portfolio > Paper Works

This piece was created during my art residency at Starry Night Retreat in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico in July, 2017. It is for sale at Art Basel Miami, Dec 1-4, 2016, represented by Exposure Gallery.

This large piece was the final piece made at my residency and created at the height of my experimentation with found objects and paint manipulation via metal scrapping tools. I added a dissolved vitamin to mixed pastel acrylic colors to create a metallic, muted tone in contrast to the fluorescent pink of the cut and glued plastic pool float material at the bottom of the piece. Water color as a base layer forced me to use patience and diligence in making each subsequent decision. This was a contemplative, tribute piece to mysterious New Mexican territory.
